Access to our Parish Centre is off Cropedy Road, adjacent to the church. Sacramental Preparations take place throughout the year - contact the Parish Priest to make arrangements.
Parish Organisations: Legion of Mary - members visit the Homes of the sick and housebound, the Nursing and Residential Homes in the parish and the local hospitals. Throughout the year members also carry out some door to door visitation and join with other groups to recite the rosary in the City Centre Shopping Centre.
St. Vincent de Paul Society - members help those in need, help to provide furnisher for some people and take care of the homeless.
A number of Alocoholics Annonomous groups meet in our Parish Centre. These groups reach the wider community, indeed citywide. See parish newsletter for details of times and days when they meet.
Union of Catholic Mothers meet on Thursadays. This group of mothers provide a social outlet and friendships among the mothers of the parish. The meeting consists of prayer and input form outside speakers. The group help with the many social events in the parish.
Knights of St. Columba - this is a group of Catholic men drawn from the region that help their Parsih Priest and parish in the day to day needs of the parsih. The group meet at different locations throughout the month. Interested ... phone
Lourdes Group - this group supports the Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes by raising funds to finance some people's pilgrimage to the shrine. The group also helps ACROSSS TRUST. Throughout the year fundraising events are organised.
Parish Bingo - on Thursday afternoon (1.30pm to 3.15pm) to provide a social outlet for people in the area. Social Events are organised on a regular basis .. see newsletter
An informal Parents and Child group meet on Mondays 9.15am (during school term.) Fundancing social evening on Wednesdays with line dancing music and song - Parsih Centre from 7.30pm.
St. John Fisher Catholic Primary School - 0121 475 3489 - is located on Alvechurch Road, about three minute walk from the church. This popular and successsful school is an integral part of the parish. The governing body is drawn from the widerr parish members, parents of the school and Local Authority. Mass is celebrated in the school hall on Thursdays at 9.15am to wish parents and parsihioners are encouraged to attend. On Holydays of Obligations and major feasts the pupils and staff attend the parish mass in church. There is a very active Parent and Friends Association that organised regular social events.
Along with our Weekly Offertory Collection, the Parish Tote is a source of regular income. Social events in our Parish Centre double up as Fund Raising Events. Our Overseas Mission Project is supporting a Home for Street Children in Amani. We regularly participate in local and city activities to support Fr. Hudson's Society, Coleshill and St. Mary's Hospice Selly Park. At this time we are hoping to ste up a football club for school age groups.
